If you're perusing the Roofs for Woofs site, we're hoping it's because you're possibly looking for a new family member, or maybe just wanting to learn more about our group! In either case, thank you for visiting! If Roofs for Woofs doesn't have the dog you are looking for, please consider other shelters. Gratiot County Animal Control has dogs every week looking to find adoptable homes, or risk going to research (read: Queenie: A Wayne State University Experiement for more info, but we caution you - read at your own risk, as this story is very disturbing!) Also, please consider adopting a dog from Genesee County Animal Control. They get several pets in each day, and we are hoping they can increase their save rate! In addition to these shelters, there are many others looking to place adoptable pets. Roofs for Woofs is a smaller organization, always in need of foster homes. Roofs for Woofs has definitely been slower in recent months, and have taken in several pets with special needs - varying from deaf puppies to behavior and socialization issues. Because of this, we have used a lot of funds for training and socialization help needed to get these pets ready for their forever homes. We could really use donations for gas cards (to take pets to and from training events), donations for training or doggie day care (to help with socialization and behavior issues), and treats/toys/raw hides so our longer term foster pets have things to play with while in our care. Foster Homes for Adult Dogs Needed |

Roofs for Woofs is a foster home based rescue and we are in dire need of foster homes for adult dogs. There are many great dogs ending up in shelters each day and are at risk of euthanasia, or being given to research. Many local adult dogs need our help, and we have limited space. If you are able to take in an adult, and can be flexible with their needs, we could really use your help. However, because we don't have a facility, if a foster home commits to a pet, we typically need them to be available for that animal. Please email
